Zinc Gluconate is generally manufactured by the controlled reaction of gluconic acid with a suitable zinc source, such as zinc oxide or zinc carbonate.
Gluconic acid solution is prepared or charged into the reaction vessel, and the zinc compound is added gradually under continuous agitation. The reaction proceeds under controlled temperature and pH conditions until the required neutralisation and zinc gluconate formation are achieved.

After completion of the reaction, the solution is clarified and filtered to remove insoluble matter. The clear Zinc Gluconate solution is then concentrated under controlled conditions, followed by crystallisation. The crystals are separated, suitably dried, milled and sieved to obtain the required particle characteristics.
