The manufacturing process begins with ensuring equipment cleanliness and availability of utilities, raw materials, and packing materials.
Charge methanol in Glass line reactor (GLR) and benzoyl chloride and hydrogen peroxide are added gradually under controlled stirring. Cool the reaction mass up to 10–15°C and maintain the reaction mass at 10–15°C for 120–180 minutes to ensure controlled reaction without decomposition. Once the reaction is complete, the mixture is cooled to 0–5°C to precipitate benzoyl peroxide.
The solid is separated through filtration or centrifugation and washed with chilled solvent to remove impurities. The wet benzoyl peroxide is dried under vacuum at 30–40°C to ensure safety and stability. After drying, the material is milled, sieved.
Pack Benzoyl Peroxide in a clear poly bag under nitrogen blanketing and twist the mouth of the bag. Secure it with a PVC strip.Place this bag inside another black poly bag, twist its mouth, and secure it with a PVC strip. Insert these bags into a triple-laminated aluminum bag and seal it properly. Finally, place the sealed aluminum bag in an HDPE container. Store Benzoyl Peroxide in a tightly closed, light-resistant container at a temperature below 30°C.
